Direct hire opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer, located in Newberg, OR

As a Senior Design Engineer you will:

  • Be a strong mechanical engineer with the ability to develop complex mechanisms with robust precision movements for machining applications.
  • Be capable of Quickly & Effectively modeling concepts and detailed designs using CAD software; (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Be able to translate customer requirements into a product specification that a conceptual design can be developed from and costed to support market price targets.
  • Evaluating product risks through formal tools such as DFMEA or equivalent.
  • Designing large fabrications with high tolerance features to support integration with electro-mechanical mechanisms.
  • Sizing appropriate system power sources; hydraulic, pneumatic, AC Electrics, DC Electrics, etc.
  • Generating prints per ASME Y14.5-2009 standards with effective use of GD&T.
  • Working directly with customers/end users to capture product requirements as well as understand market requirements.
  • Work proactively with operations to ensure customer expectations are exceeded through Stage gate product development processes, resulting in a robust manufacturable design.
  • Capable of managing several projects at once, requiring strong time management skills.
  • Complete multiple component tolerance stack-up analysis for large assemblies.
  • Completing formal root cause analysis of quality issues and support eliminating equipment down time during the life of the product.
  • Provides direction and required details for layouts and drafting to machine designer/drafter team.
  • Provides engineering-based project management communication with the program office.
  • Provides overall systems solution focus based on customer/market requirements.
  • Supports final product testing/demonstrations with hands on approach and specification focus.
  • Support development of product configurators for machines with multiple configuration options.
  • Defines Verification and Validation steps through detailed product specification and evaluation in meeting customer/market requirements
  • Capable of providing customer training when necessary on new products.
  • Experience in ensuring product documentation is compliant with ISO procedures and processes
  • Capable of generating product Bills of Materials and Item Cards in ERP system.
  • Applies lean principles to work flow/project management for process improvements.
  • Possesses "bottom line' results focus, based on customer needs and business objectives.
  • Mentor, teach and coach design and systems engineers.
This is a Full-time Direct Hire role

Ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 8-15 years of related design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to manage large projects to success
  • Excellent skills in CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Familiar with computer planning systems such as MRP including Bills of Materials

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
